Videography

Videography is a term used to describe the art of making a video.

From Wikipedia: - Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media (e.g., videotape, hard disk, or solid state storage, streaming media). The term includes methods of electronic production and post production. It is the equivalent of cinematography, but with images recorded on electronic media instead of film stock.

The word combines "video" from Latin, meaning "I see" or "I apprehend", with the Greek terminal ending "graphy", meaning "to write".

In the making of a corporate video, Videography is 80% of the process. The important part that needs to be added to complete the process is scriptwriting. Because the term is so broad, it is rarely used in South Africa. There are only a few people who can do the whole process of video production if you keep to the strict definition of the process namely shooting and editing.

Corporate videos are very special videos and require good Videography as well as someone that understands marketing and communication. This is even rarer in the video production field.

The bottom line is that you need to be careful when you choose your video producer.
